Compensation: $30.00–$31.80 per hour (based on experience and certification)

Two Career Paths, One High-Impact Team

Choose the track that matches your background. Candidates may be evaluated on Journeyman card status or equivalent hands-on experience.

Path A: Industrial Millwright

Day in the life: You might begin your shift aligning a new conveyor, move on to diagnosing a 480V motor fault, and finish by fabricating a bracket on the mill—each task keeping production on pace.

What you’ll do

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Rebuild machinery—bearings, clutches, cylinders, conveyors, motors
• Perform welding, brazing, soldering, and light fabrication
• Install, level, align, and relocate equipment using hoists, forklifts, and cranes
• Build and service air, water, and coolant piping
• Execute preventive maintenance with thorough documentation in computerized systems
• Install/repair fixtures, motors, switches, relays, breakers, and power cables
• Diagnose single- and three-phase circuits (120/208/240/480V)
• Use lathes, mills, and grinders to machine replacement components
• Read and apply blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings
• Follow plant safety procedures and industrial standards

What you bring

• Journeyman Millwright or Maintenance Machine Repairer card—or equivalent experience
• Proven diagnostic ability across mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, boilers, and high-voltage equipment
• Experience with motor changeout, repair, and maintenance
• Proficiency reading blueprints and electrical schematics
• Forklift license (or ability to obtain company-issued certification)
• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods

Path B: Precision Tool & Die Maker

Day in the life: From resurfacing a production die to writing a complex Wire EDM program, you ensure dies hit ±.001" targets and keep quality at the highest level.

What you’ll do

• Locate, drill, tap, and mill features to ±.001" on vertical mills with DROs
• Machine intricate pockets and contours using indicators and edge finders
• Cut hardened materials with carbide tooling
• Perform basic lathe ops—shafts, shoulders, and V-threads
• Dress grinding wheels for complex radii and angular forms
• Grind precise flat and angled surfaces to clean intersections
• Lap-fit for press fits and die button draft
• Build new dies or rebuild existing tools from engineering drawings
• Resurface and sharpen production dies; set shut-height
• Write/modify complex Wire EDM programs using ordinate dimensions
• Reverse-engineer and rebuild dies without drawings; record changes for engineering
• Mentor apprentices and uphold quality and shop policies

What you bring

• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker card (or willingness to complete an apprenticeship to earn it)
• Personal machinist toolkit: micrometers, indicators, sine bar, parallels, die jacks, etc.
• Strong blueprint/layout skills and precision measurement capability
• Professional communication and a team-first mindset
