Job Description
Teamcenter System Architect (Product Configurator) The Teamcenter System Architect will design and optimize Siemens Teamcenter solutions with a focus on the Product Configurator module. Responsibilities include rule modeling, variant management, data model design, workflow integration, and supporting configurable product architectures. Ideal candidates have deep Teamcenter experience, expertise with Product Configurator, and strong collaboration skills across engineering and manufacturing.
Product Configurator Leadership - Architect and deploy Product Configurator models for configurable products, platforms, and modular product families.
- Create rules-based configurations using options, parameters, logic expressions, and feature models.
- Implement constraint-based models to eliminate invalid combinations and ensure accurate BOM generation.
- Integrate Product Configurator with Change Management, BOM Management, Requirements, and Workflow processes.
- Provide governance and standards for configuration modeling practices across product lines.
- Work directly with customer and end-users to help support the design of the system
Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 5–10+ years of hands-on Teamcenter architecture and configuration experience.
- Strong expertise with:
- Teamcenter Product Configurator
- Variant and option management
- Configuration rules, constraints, feature models
- eBOM/mBOM configuration alignment
- BMIDE and data modeling
- Workflow design
- Experience in mid- to large-scale PLM implementations and configurable product environments.
PLM Knowledge • Understanding of product lifecycle stages
• Familiarity with Teamcenter data structures (items, BOMs, revisions)
Configuration Management
• Experience with product variants, options, and rules
• Knowledge of configuration logic (e.g., Boolean logic, constraints)
Teamcenter Expertise • Proficiency in Teamcenter UI and modules (Structure Manager, BOM Manager, etc.)
• Experience with Teamcenter workflows and change processes
Rule Authoring and Modeling
• Ability to define and manage configuration rules
• Understanding of rule syntax and modeling best practices
CAD and BOM Integration
• Familiarity with CAD tools integrated with Teamcenter (NX, Solid Edge, etc.)
• Understanding of how configurations affect design and manufacturing BOMs
Data Analysis and Troubleshooting
• Skills in analyzing configuration errors or rule conflicts
• Ability to validate and test configurations
Collaboration and Communication
• Working with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, sales)
• Translating business requirements into configuration logic
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with additional modules such as:
- BOM Management
- Change Management (PR/ECR/ECO)
- Requirements Management
- MPP/MOM for manufacturing
- Active Workspace configuration
- Familiarity with customization: ITK, SOA/REST, AWC extension development.
- Experience in industries with heavy product variation: automotive, industrial machinery, aerospace, electronics, consumer products, medical devices.
